737 Julius Augustus Burchard De DIÉMAR «aus 4492» , 1766 Stade, Germany, 1846 Quebec, Canada, [I7430], Hessian officer in British service. At the age of 15 he was an Ensign. , N: A Hessian Officer, in 1781 Ensign, Geburtsname von Diemar wurde nach der Auswanderung nach Kanada in de Diémar geändert.
As a Hessian officer for the British he had been fighting the Americans for the British during the American Revolution. He did not go back to Germany after the War ended but instead just went to Canada.
He moved to Québec, Canada, after the Revolutionary War in America ended in 1783.
Julius changed his name to de Diémar from von Diemar in the 1780’s to make it sound more like a French name.
In the late 1790’s he was living in Martinique where his first wife died.
Julius died in Quebec in 1846.
He had three wives and 7 sons.
