, 1819 Vegesack?, um 1879 USA?, [I6113], N: U.S. Citizen, Captain , N: ship’s captain, Caspar was born in 1819, the same year his father died at sea. Caspar Kehrmann, a citizen of the United States, was the captain of the brig “Glamorgan� of New York which was seized in 1854 by the U.S. brig “Perry�, under command of Lieutenant Richard Page, on suspicion of being a slaver and sent home for trial. Kehrmann had sought to escape by hoisting a British flag. Kehrman, his mate, and two seamen were taken in custody by the U.S. Marshal, lodged in jail, to be examined before the U.S.Commisioner in Boston, Massachusetts.
