Elizabeth (Elsa) Miller «aus 16490» , 1854 Orangeburgh, Rockland, New York, [I16970], 1905 NY Census, 1880, 1900, 1910, 1920, 1930 US Census. New York, County Records, 1908-1935 (marriage records) Lic.# 18977. Marriage Witnesses are Babette Betzler and John Appenzeller., Newspaper obit. sourced information on Siblings and their husbands. p. 4., Elizabeth probably married first husband Louis Kraft in the mid to late 1870's. Daughter Caroline was 9 months old in 1880. The 1910 census states that Elizabeth had six children with four living. I have no record of when the two children died. The 1905 New York Census shows Elizabeth as head of family with three children living on Union Ave. at the intersection with Webster Ave. in New Rochelle. Note that this home #147 is close to John Appenzeller's #137 and bordering Webster Ave. where Ahrend Rohrs lived at #190 Webster. All are only two or three blocks away from Hermann and his family on Eastchester Ave. Reminder: Union Ave. was renamed Eastchester Ave. and are used interchangeably. These families are all related and serve as witnesses on documents. i.e. marriages, baptisms, etc.. so it is no surprise that Elizabeth and Hermann married in 1916.
The fourth child Caroline, had moved out and married John Sauer. 1910 Census shows her living with her first child Caroline T. Sauer wife of John. The 1920 Census lists Elizabeth as wife of Herman. Later in 1920 Herman dies, the house on Eastchester Ave. goes to his son Valentine Rohrs, and Elizabeth moves in with her son Valentine Kraft in Larchmont as evidenced in the 1930 Census. Yes, there were two Valentine's., weitere Partnerschaften zu «13136»
