In collaboration with the State Archives, a large group of MAUS members first compiled this alphabetical index of the civil registry records to make it easier to search for specific individuals. Once you have found and clicked on the name you are looking for, the details of the entry will appear, including the relevant registry office and the registration number, which you should make a note of before clicking on the Arcinsys signature. Clicking this link takes you directly to the registry office book where the entry can be found under the registration number. Please note that in smaller registry offices, multiple years’ records may be contained in a single book.
Therefore, the older civil registry documents are now available for genealogical research.
In Cooperation of the MAUS with the responsible archives, these civil registers are gradually transferred to the register database and, depending on the agreement with the archives, the internet. These databases may be provided for everyone or for members only.
