It is believed that Wilhelm August established a bookstore in Warendorf, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, on November 1, 1926-fulfilling his dreams of opening such a business in that community. It was located at Freckenhorster #44, Warendorf 48231 and still exists at that location today.
In 1964, his daughter Margaret took over the store and made necessary renovations. Reinhard Hesse, grandson of the founder, took over in 1973 with his wife Marta.
